My first ML, published in November 1941, has a fall 1941 orange dj. The back panel is style g stating "over 250 titles." The inside list is headed 278 outstanding titles.

My copy with the black dj is fall 1944; the list of titles inside the jacket is headed 316 outstanding titles. The back style is h3.

The dust jacket for Collected Short Stories of Ring Lardner, Toledano 211.2, came with a background of one of two colors -- red-orange and black. You can see them here:

I'm trying to nail down the dates of use of each color, which seem to be all over the place. I'd also like to check on the DJ back styles, g & h -- especially the h back style ( http://www.modernlib.com/Identifiers/djBacksReg/hVariations.html )

Thanks much,
