I have about 50 Oxford classics for sale;
The hot? sellers in the series are the Tolstoy
titles...Wht Is Art?, What I Believe,What Then Must We Do?, The Kingdom of God & Peace Essays, Essays? On Religion, etc.
The big problem with the Oxford? World's Classics is they have little inside margin

What Everyman's series has over the Modern Library is scholarship...just to give a few examples..
All the Dickens novels have a introduction by G.K. Chesterton
Take a classic, such as Canterbury Tales, compare?? the notes, introduction etc ML vs. EL.
On the Gibbon; I can't sell the three? volume ML Giant and? can always sell the six volume EL set...when I can find it. ,..

The Everyman's Library cannon contains treasures such as the three volume
Robert Burton, Anatomy Of Melancholy.
It's true, the series does contain some dogs...what series doesn't?

It had been suggested to me to only collect MLs with dj, but not the Everyman series.? I'm curious, why do you wish you had collected them also.? I have thought about the Harvard collection, but there seems to be so much doubling in reprint companies.

Back in the Stone Age; I was a flea market regular and started picking up these
little ML books @ 25 cents each.
One Mr. David Park, the most knowledgeable book person I have ever known looked
at my collection and said two things to me-
1.) "All very well Joe...but acquire them in nice condition with dust jackets."
2.) If I were you, I would also pick up the Everyman's series."
Alas, I did not take his advise on #2..

I also was a teenager when I saw all the new MLs on the bookstore shelf
when I was a teenager in the early 60s. But I did not start collecting
them until 1978 or 1979 when a librarian friend said to me "You know,
those modern libraries in your den would look great if they were all
placed on one shelf together. Today they take up eight shelves!
