It's amazing?what changes have occurred- 20-25 years ago you could call around to various book stores and have a decent chance of finding pre-1940 jacketed firsts.?B & L titles with nice DJs?were never that easy to find, however.

Yes, I started my collection in the 70's, boy, the good stuff one could pick up
at that time.
I was not sure if I wanted to collect B&L titles then, feeling they did not "fit
in" as part of my collection (the dust jackets did not look right) by the time
I had made up my mind...most all VG/VG B &L titles had been snapped up by other
collectors
A bookseller wanted to sell me a VG/VG Little Women for $10.00 ...I said to
him"Do you think I just got off the boat?"
