Ok,I will help out here--
My hard copy of the Irving Stone book is a first...but what is interesting about it is that it has blank end papers...it is not a pirate edition..

     I have seen a copy of Lust for Life with a hardcover binding
and a Modern Library first edition statement, so they do exist.
