Subject: Book Scans are Getting Expensive

I came across this book seller on ABE, who apparently is inconvenienced by
providing book scans:

"The price of the book is US$ 8.00 Due to the volume of scan requests we will
now send scans of our books for $2.00 per book (or set) and we will apply that
to the price of the book if it is purchased.

The seller is Aaron's Free Booksearch Int'l"

Anybody ever heard of this? Are scan requests a real problem for internet book
sellers?
