i meant the dj, but now i have checked , and the book has james, washington
square, and not alcott, so the book is spring 50 and the dj is fall 49
right?

jacket did? My book has the spring 1950 list, but the jacket is fall '49.

    If the list at the end of the book is fall 1949, that means copies with
    spring 1950 lists are second printings with the "First" statement
retained.
