well, according to The Guide the first had 278 titles in the catalog, 
so none of those are firsts.  (Bemelmans is as notorious as the 
Thurber for having the first slug for years longer than appropriate.) 
ML's were 95 cents through 1946 also according to The Guide. 
(Bemelmans was in print to 1947.)
